茶餐厅, a venue not to be missed if you visit Hong Kong! It's one of the places where you can get very authentic local food (esp. roast duck noodle!) at very reasonable prices. One of the downside is that you have to share yr table with "strangers" especially at peak hours. I happen to pass by one in Tiong Bahru (Singapore) sometime back and decided to try today. It's called "The Happy Valley Hong Kong Cafe"!
Well, the interior decor does not even has the slight resemblence of a 茶餐厅! Brightly lit with even more colourful chairs and tables. We ordered a Beef Noodle, mixed meat combination, fried rice, pomelo sago and of course the 鸳鸯奶茶!
The verdict: I guess the food has more or less been customized to cater to the taste bud of Singaporean. You find green and red chili on the table.
Verdict:
顧客坐好以後會先給客人每人一杯茶: No
Authenticity: 1/10
Food: 5/10
Cost: 2/10 (the fried rice is SGD$6.80)
