Test Drive

It's a good thing that we can put the walker to test before purchase. Although they come in different color, it makes a difference with the BB sits in it.
Puku comes with resin like wheels and the toys feels much more solid too.

The designs with car outfits feels more study and costly too.

Maxi Cosi Car Seats

Our little one is into her 7 months and its time for us to source for a new car seat. The sale gal is kind enough to give us a copy of the Maxi Cosi 2009 catalog. We are pretty happy with the Cabrio fix, which has served us well since her birth. With GSS 09, there sld be some good deals around!

Rainforest Jumperoo

The Rainforest Jumperoo is one of the most innovative toys available. It allows the baby to jump and promotes interaction with a 360 degress rotating chair where she can play with surrounding toys. We rented it for a month from Rent-a-Toy. Check out the Planet Jumperoo too.

Bottle Refusal: Resolved

At first, we are not able to comprehend why she has refused to feed from the bottle. Was it the milk, the temperature or the teat? She only accepts the bottle in an "unconscious" state and at times, we are not able to outsmart her. To make matter worse, she is able to go without milk for 6-8 hrs without crying. Naturally it made us even more worried.

Well, the fact is, our little princess has grown up and she is able to different between the nipple and the decoy! Luckily, a quick call to the mummy's hot line helps resolve our woes. We went down to MC and purchase the Nuk's bottle and teat, not sure if it will work!

Just when we are having coffee outside MC, she started to cry again. The kind gentleman at Killiney helps us to sterilize the bottles and teat...long story short, Bingo! She accepts it without any hesitation. So much for being first time parents.

We are the Avent people but guess will need to switch to Nuk for a period of time. Cute cartoon on the Nuk bottle. We purchase the Standard neck bottle with latex teats. According to the sales assistant, Latex teats are softer but less lasting.

Combi Carrier

Finally we put the combi carrier to test (with megan in it!). Highly recommend this carrier. It's very comfortable (both for bb and carrier), safe and most important the material is breathable. The carrier features 4 carrying styles. For newborn, it has an attachment that protects the bb's neck. As seen here, the carrier's weight is evenly distributed across the shoulder.

Megan uses GOO.N

Val recommended us a very good lobang..GOO.N diapers. Currently Megan uses S52, which cost around $0.30 per diapers. This is like Dryper pricing for Pampers quality. The materials feel real smooth and holds well too.

For $6++ you get a 100pcs x 3 packs wipes at Giant with cute packaging.

No more!

Wasn't it full not too long ago? She started with 40ml when she was born. Now she gulps 80-120ml!

Diapers

We change to a new brand of diaper, Mammy Poko. Each of the diaper has a cute Pooh Bear imprinted on the front but it gives an impression of pooh bear eats poo! OMG.

We started with Drypers at the hospital, pretty good and cheap in the market. At week 2, she started to outgrow the Drypers (infant) and we switched to Pampers which have a much bigger cut and less leaky!

On average we use 10 diapers a day, that total 3650 a year and 10950 in three years! Holy *&%@

No more milk!

Megan demand for milk has grew over the past few days. We have to start supplement with formula milk. I have bought a small tin of Mamil Infant milk for emergency use. Yesterday night, it has reached an all time low! To make thing worse, the infant brand is not available in my neighbourhood NTUC. Interestingly Mamil Gold step 1 is also not featured on Dumex website. I reckon it is the brand support on breast milk for newborns.

First stroller ride

Megan followed us to the clinic today. I believe our gyne would love to see her after the delivery. We tried out the stroller for the first time and the experience was great. But its still too early to judge how it will perform in other spaces. So far, I love the seamless transfer of the maxi cosi car seat, from home, into the car and onto the Quinny.

Combi ninna nanna baby Carrier

More goodies from the Taka baby Fair! We also purchase the Combi Carrier, the diaper outer liner and a baby wrap (like how you wrap a popiah!)

The Combi carrier is one of the best in the market. Well designed with comfortable fabric. Unlike other brands they are simple to use and you do not get bits and pieces falling apart. We purchase the 4 ways system as it comes with an addditional paddding so that you can start using from 0-30months.

a closeup of the internal padding.

as you can see, even ah niuniu feels so comfy in it that she almost fell asleep!

Quinny Buzz 888

Finally purchase the last "big item" for Megan. Just waiting for her to test drive the stroller.
We went to the baby fair just to jalan jalan but never expect to spend so much! But it's a blessing because we tends to save quite a bit! especially at times of inflation!

The staff was quite efficient in assembling the stroller. Here's the bare skeleton! Wonder where is the 2 back wheels? the staff is pumping air into it!

Well if you are asking why we chose the Quinny Buzz as compared to other brands/models? It's because it was love at first sigh (δΈ€θ§ι’Ÿζƒ…)! Jen loved 3 wheeler because they are much sturdy and I appreciate good product design. Other than Stokke Xplory, The Quinny Buzz is one of the sleekest stroller I have seen.

Well, to go with the cool and sleek factor, you have to forgo some things like

  1. Cost. You probably can purchase another additional stroller. So no Canon 40D for me!
  2. Weight, the Quinny Buzz weighs around 11+kg, normal stroller man weigh around 4-5kg. Not a good option if you need tocommute using public transport.
  3. Size. As you can see the Buzz occupies almost 80% of my boot space. So if you are a golfer, you may require a SUV!
  4. Due to the size, the Buzz is not able to negotiate tight spaces and almost impossible on some escalator.
Well, for true usability..I can only provide a review in 4 months time. akang datang
