Best of Taiwan 2009 :: Part 1

Bits and pieces, some are interesting, others are unique to Taiwan.

Taiwan Day 11

Day 11: Taiwan to Singapore

Taiwan Day 10

Day 10: Taipei

Destination: National Palace Museum.

Transferring to the red line, heading to Shilin Station.

Some of best scenery can be seen from the train.

Each station have their uniqueness and characteristics. Walk to the main road and board either Red30, 255, 304 to the National Palace Museum.

The bus journey is around 15mins and cost NT$15.

Walk through a Chih-shan Garden before entering the museum. The garden features many beauty feature of a Chinese garden.

Lift your head up when you take the escalator up to the entrance.

Moving on to Danshui 淡水, the last station on the red line.

Walking down Danshui old street. A nite market brings the place to life.

Iron eggs or 鐵蛋, a local delicacies.

Danshui waterfront, with Bali 八里 township at the back.

Night market across the MRT station.

Back to the MRT to Raohe night market.

Raohe Street Tourist night market is one of the oldest night market in Taiwan. Although termed as a tourist market, its frequent by locals. Take the MRT to Houshanpi on the blue line. You can either walk, take a bus or cab here.

As usual, lots of shops, foods and games stalls.
