The Nikkor 35mm 1:1.8G DX is the latest lens from Nikon and caters for the DX range users. It features a built in silent wave motor with a max. 1.8 aperture. The lens is mainly made up of plastic with a metal ring (very light) but it generally inexpensive and affordable even for the beginners. I have rented the lens for 3 days from CRC and will post some test shots over the weekend.
