With the in built motor, the focusing is fast and very silent. Compared to my old 35-70mm F3.3-4.5, the lens allows 4 times as much lights into the camera. So you get the picture, everything seems so clear now!
The lens perform very well under day light with most sharpness at the center of the lens.
great color contract even on neutrals.
Shot with available lighting, I am able to obtain sharp images on the performers at ISO800.
Macro wasn't that great. The 35mm is never meant for macro but does well with food shots.
On DX camera, the 35mm works like the 50mm. Great for portraiture with nice bokeh.
Of course, this is the reason of getting this lens.
