LCD leakage

The LCD of my beloved ixy is damages and it happened 1 year after purchased. I have a permanent sunrise on my lcd screen. Pretty much the myth that hardware breakdown after the warranty period. Went down to Canon service center and they diagnosed as LCD leakage and its not covered under warranty. SGD$100 to repair! The good thingy is it does not affect the image as its processed by the CCD. The Camera is now in its 2nd shutter cycle, having pass the first 10,000 image in September.
