Girl or Boy?

Due to cultural and social factors, sons are preferred over daughters in many Asian countries. In many third world countries, sons are required for manual works mainly in the area of agriculture. Daughters are mostly married out of the family thus not able to provide financial support to their parents. In some cultural, huge dowry are prepared by the brides' family and this also prove to be a financial burden. Most importantly, in Chinese cultural, sons are required to carry on the family name. This is especially true in China's "one child policy".

In Singapore, I believe that there should not exist extreme gender preferences. Nowadays most SG families have an average of 2-3 kids. Women here also enjoy equal status as men.

Results will be out tomorrow. Stay Tuned!
