The Nikon D90, launched on 27 Aug 08 is the first DSLR camera to feature HD 720P video. Canon follow suit with the 5Dmark II and boost it with a HD 1080p recording & 44.1kHz mono audio. This year, Nikon introduced the D5000 with 720p HD recording and guess what, Canon topped the competition with a 1080p HD movie recording on a entry level DSLR, the Canon 500D. Today we have a feel on that camera.
Another Nikon user in our office. Loved the swivel LCD on the D5000. The D5000 body is slightly smaller than the D90 (right), very light weight and I would say great for a ladies hand.
The LCD allows you to tilt at certain angles, pivot at the base of the camera. Great for self portraits and aerial shots.
The D5000 uses the Lithium-Ion EN-EL9e battery and a different hand grip, thus not compatible with older models. We can clearly see that both manufacturers are targeting at amateur photographers by packing a lot more features on these entry level DSLR!
