Bali Special: Food

You do not fly 1674.38km to eat MC Donald. Yes, you can find MC Donald virtually everywhere, and its a real relieve you don't find one in Ubud. Traveling is all about immersing in a country's culture, it's people and it's food. I'll leave out the typical western dishes that is available in most of the restaurant menu.

Warung Ibu Oka Babi Guling. This dish have to be on the top of your food listing. It's all about pork here and to be specific, roast pork. For a mere Rp. 35,000, you are served a generous portion of "roast pork rice".

Nasi Campur and a cuppa of hot tea. This is indo version of mixed rice. You get a little of everything on the rice, including a sate (satay). Rp18,000

Another local muslim favorite, similar to our local mixed rice. And no, we did not finished all the dishes. You are only billed on the dishes that you have selected. Technically, if you place small portion of the dishes into the plate, it's looks exactly similar to Nasi Campur!

Nasi Camper, the restaurant style (Lotus Pond restaurant, Sanur). Cone shaped fried rice with mixed dishes. Normally cost you around Rp, 50,000 - 70,000.

Authentic Balinese food at Bumi Warung. Fish wrapped in Banana. One of the best local restaurant in Ubud.

Bebek Bengil or Dirty Duck. Unique duck rice. You get a half duck, lean and dry with a side dish.

The same restaurant serve good ribs too.

There are definately lots of good local food that we may not have come across. Be adventurous. Special thanks to Novita for compiling the makan list before our trip.
