Marriage&Parenthood Package backdated to Aug 17

After we and thousands of Singaporean "cry father cry mother" for a few day, the government has finally backdated the qualifying date to Aug 17, the date PM Lee announced the news.

So afterall we get to enjoy:
1. Enhanced Baby BonusThe cash gift for the first and second child will be raised from $3,000 to $4,000. Read more.

2. Children Development AccountThe government matching contribution will be extended to the first child at up to $6,000.

3. Extended Government Paid Maternity LeaveMaternity leave will be extended from 12 weeks to 16 weeks for mothers. The last eight weeks can be taken flexibly over 12 months from the birth of the child, subject to mutual agreement between the employer and employee. More more MOM website.
