Blurb book Arrived

Making a book has never been easier, thanks to BLURB. The software has lots of practical templates and a step by step guide to layout the book. Blurb uses the HP Indigo 5500, in my opinion a very good printer. You can download the HP ICC profile here, so you can soft proof the book before print.

Blurb has recently launch the Professional Book Production Program. Readmore

The Blurb book arrived, took only 10 days for print&delivery! Secured packaging.

Overall quite happy but a few things to note.

Specs.
1. I am using only 180 dpi for the 7 x 7 inch book. Although the recommended is 300dpi!
2. Most of the images are taken without flash on my Canon IXUS 860. In the original photo, noise is visible at Iso400 and above. Why I am indicating this is bcos my image source is not in the best quality. The Canon IXUS 860 takes great images in daylight but under low light conditions, the noise is clearly visible.

On the book
1. Overall feel is good, especially when you pay only USD$26 to personalize a book.
2. All images appear darker. Color should not be accurate as the screen is not calibrated.
3. Some of the images are not as sharp (most likely due to the lower resolution)
4. Binding and page trimming are perfect but only time will tell if the book can keep intact!

Dad got the book in the evening! Guess he never expect this is possible!
