Southern Ridges:::Route 1

Try out the route from Alexandra Arch to Mount Faber. The National Park Board has done a pretty good job on the signage and maps.

Started from the direction of Hort Park, I walk towards the Alexandra Arch with a loving old couple in front of me.

the structure during the construction phase.

At the end of the bridge, you embark on what looks like a endless maze of walkway.

From here it is the Forest Walk (upslope) towards Telok Blangah Hill Park. This is where the fun begins, not expecting what to see.

You reach a resting point, a hexagonal canopy. From here, you are able to walk around the Black & White house along Preston Road.

It starts to get really hot along this stretch, will no tree canopy for shelter. Take a peep down the small gaps on the metal platform for a thrilling sensation. There are no steps here, so perfect for stroller or wheelchair.

One of my favorite spot, where you have a bird eye view of 4 walkways.

It took me around 33mins to walk from the Alexandra Arch to the end of the Forest Walk.

I skipped the Garden terrace and proceed along the hill top walk. If you are driving, expect this during weekend. The hilltop is also a resting point for toilet break and refill of water bottle. This hilltop became famous in 2004 for the murder of Huang Na.

walked for 12 minutes to the starting point of Henderson waves. Have walked for 45min so far, only stopping for pictures.

Well, if you are pondering why the bridge is so empty..it's because it is 1230pm.

view of Henderson road

Along the entire stretch, the height of the bridge is carved into slabs of balau wood.

loved the pattern on the wooden slabs.

spend 13mins on the bridge, at the end of the bridge, my walking time totals to almost an hour!

Pretty breath taking view on the way up Mount Faber.

A total of 1 hours and 11mins when I reached the cable car station. Toilet break and fill up your water bottle here.

my route ends here with this view of cable car, Harbour Front and Sentosa at the background.
