During my infant days, the Ah Mahs use to carry the baby with a piece of cloth (sarong carrier). A pretty good way of carrying the infants as it position the baby so that there is constant eye contact and places the head in the most comfy region (u know where lar!). These slings are still commonly use and some has even evolve to pretty cool design.
