The Sakura starts to boom on our way up the mountain. The Sakura were initially planted by the Japanese when they conquered TW, not after they they cut down all the trees in Alishan for building materials in Japan.
The Alishan Forest Railway (阿里山森林鐵路)
A short walk through the forest. Avoid Peak season!

There's a temple situated halfway along the walking path, decorated with pretty intricate figures and carvings.
A must try, 烤番薯 or sweet potato
Staying at Crystal Resort for the nite. This is the biggest resort around Sun Moon Lake area.
