With SGD$19.90, you can visit the Underwater world and Dolphin Lagoon at Sentosa!
When we last visit the island donkey years ago, there is no Dolphin lagoon and the Underwater world is a world class aquarium, that's back in 1991.
I went into the Dolphin lagoon with much anticipation, with no less expectation to Sea World. To my horror, tourist sat on plastic chairs under a row of tentage. The entire area was cordon off with what looks like metal sheets. The space looks like a temporary holding area!
"chosen" tourist are able to pat the dolphin. If you have another SGD$15 to spare, there is a meet and greet session after the show! Pls note the show times and plan your schedule well as the show only last 25mins!
This 2 stories tank was one of the center of attraction, the crowd use to pack the hallway during feeding times.
There are touchpools for the kids but the starfishes are no where to be found (could be taking a break)! You never get to to touch the fishes. Once u stuck you hand in, they scattered!
yes, the smiley face is available for touch! But after Steve Erwin is killed by one, I wonder how many parents permit close interaction with their kids.
there are other small tanks that feature marine fishes, carbs etc
the next "Wow" is when u reach the Arapaima tank! It's one of the largest freshwater fish and can reach 3m in length!
great to be there during feeding time!
Next is the 83m long tunnel. You can enjoy the underwater world via endless loop on the travellator.
The entire experience was not as refreshing on this 2nd visit. I guess the island really needs the IR to boost up tourism. I reckon the underwater world is likely to close its doors when the Marine Life Park opens within the IR in 2010. It will be at least another 2 yrs time when I will step into this island for another mini vacation!
