IXUS

The IXUS 800 IS came back from service. Canon replaces the entire optic without charges. sigh...wonder if it would breakdown again! Very true that gagets normally breakdown after the warranty period expire! I am very pleased with the IXUS 860 IS, the successor of the 800. The 860 has a larger screen and capture much better images. The 860 also loses the viewfinder (seldom use too) but with the larger screen, the body is slightly bigger than the 800. The best improvement is the 28mm lens, great for landscape. Bought in Hokkaido, the camera is know as IXY 910 IS in Japan, that means no local warranty! One area Canon sld improve is to reduce the noise for 400 ISO onwards.

Ricoh launch the GR digital II on 30 Oct 07...sigh, wish it should arrive earlier!
