Nowadays, things are much more organized. The temple would provide long tables for the devotees to place their offerings. On the far left, the paper boxes are part of the offerings and they contain paper notes, ingots and gold bars!

Not sure if my grandparents like Pepsi but that's our offerings. Some families do prepare sumptuous meals. After praying, the offerings would be distributed among families members.

we went 10 days after the actual date, hoping to avoid the crowd...but it seems that everyone have the same thought too.

Offering of paper money, cars are part of the ritual for some. This is to ensure the deceased are able to enjoy themselves in the other world.
